Privacy notice
What FareTech collects when you get in touch, why, who else handles it, how long it is kept, and your rights under UK GDPR.

We use what you send us to reply to you. This site sets no cookies and runs no advertising scripts. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and shows us only totals, never who you are. We never sell your data.
Who we are
FareTech is an automation agency founded by Kyle Bunkin. FareTech decides how the personal data described here is used, which makes it the controller under UK GDPR. For anything about your data, email [email protected].
What we collect
When you send the enquiry form
- Your name and email address.
- Your company name, if you add it.
- Your message.
- Details sent with it: the page you sent it from, the time, and the IP address the request came from.
The form also contains a hidden field that only spam bots fill in. If it is filled in, our server discards the enquiry: nothing is emailed or stored.
When you email us
Your email address and whatever you choose to write.
When you visit the site
Like any website, the servers that deliver these pages receive your IP address, browser details, the page requested, the page that linked to it and the time.
Visit statistics
Each page loads Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script from Cloudflare that counts visits. It sends Cloudflare the page address, the page that linked to it, your browser and device type, and how quickly the page loaded. Cloudflare also receives your IP address with that request, as it does for every request to this site, and uses it to work out the country. We see only totals, such as page views, the most-read pages, referring sites, countries and load times. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, and the figures we see never identify you.
Why we use it, and the lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry and talk about work you have asked about. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, and steps you ask us to take before a contract.
- To deliver work you engage us for. Lawful basis: contract.
- To keep the site and the form secure, for example by limiting how many enquiries can be sent from one address and investigating abuse. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- To understand how the site is used, in total: which pages are read, where visitors come from and how fast pages load (the visit statistics above). Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- To keep financial records if you become a client. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone who doesn't need it for one of the purposes above.
Who handles it for us
These providers process data on our behalf, under their data-processing terms:
- Microsoft (Microsoft 365). The form sends your enquiry as an email, through Microsoft Graph, to our [email protected] mailbox, where it is stored with the rest of our email.
- Cloudflare. Cloudflare sits in front of faretech.io for security and delivery (DNS, encryption, caching and attack protection), so every request passes through it, including your IP address. Cloudflare also provides the cookieless Web Analytics described above.
- IONOS. IONOS provides the server that runs this website and the enquiry service, including the enquiry log and the web server logs described below.
Cloudflare runs a global network, and Microsoft may also process data outside the UK. Both provide data-processing terms with safeguards for international transfers.
How long we keep it
- The enquiry log. Our enquiry service also writes each enquiry to a log file on our server (the details listed above, with your IP address stored only as a one-way scrambled code, not the address itself), as a record in case an email goes astray. Entries are deleted automatically after 12 months. Ask us and we will delete yours sooner.
- Enquiry emails stay in our mailbox while we are in touch and for as long as they are useful for work that follows, then we delete them.
- Web server logs are deleted after 14 days.
- Visit statistics are held by Cloudflare as totals, under its data-processing terms, and contain nothing that identifies you.
- Client records are kept for as long as UK tax and accounting law requires.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy to take elsewhere. Email [email protected] and we will reply within one month, as the law requires.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
If what we collect, or who handles it, changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
